Liaison on purchase and sale of yachts / escrow agents

Sarnia Yachts is accustomed to liaising with clients, their brokers or agents in all matters relating to the sale or purchase of yachts so as to assist in the successful completion of such transactions.

Sarnia Yachts can, through accounts held within the Ansbacher Banking Group, act as stakeholders / escrow agents to ensure safe and secure transition of funds during completion of yacht sales.

Marine communications and EPIRB registration

Many jurisdictions have varying requirements for the issuing of yacht radio and operators' licenses and Sarnia Yachts is able to service these requirements via the offices of its associated companies in the Ansbacher Banking Group.

Larger yachts will have a number of satellite communication systems fitted that will need to be commissioned via the flag jurisdiction, with separate ID numbers for each service utilised, and an accounting authority appointed for the collection and payment of charges billed.

Larger yachts will also have at least one EPIRB fitted and it is vital that correct details of the yacht and emergency contact are registered.

Sarnia Yachts is able to work closely with the leading radio traffic licensing and accounting authorities to obtain the relevant international call sign and Satcom ID numbers and thus ensure that its clients have access to the vital global telecommunications network.

Structures for yacht charter

Income from charters may be subject to taxation at source, particularly if the transaction takes place in countries which are members of the European Union. Sarnia Yachts will be pleased to liaise with clients and their professional advisors to provide and administer tax-efficient structures to be used in connection with the chartering of yachts.

Sarnia Yachts will be pleased to find solutions to problems which may arise from the ownership and operation of a yacht, either by utilising Sarnia Yachts’ own resources or by the employment of professionals from a worldwide network of specialists.
