Sarnia Yachts is accustomed to liaising with clients, their brokers or agents in all matters relating to the sale or purchase of yachts so as to assist in the successful completion of such transactions.
Marine communications and EPIRB registration
Larger yachts will have a number of satellite communication systems fitted that will need to be commissioned via the flag jurisdiction, with separate ID numbers for each service utilised, and an accounting authority appointed for the collection and payment of charges billed.
Larger yachts will also have at least one EPIRB fitted and it is vital that correct details of the yacht and emergency contact are registered.
Sarnia Yachts is able to work closely with the leading radio traffic licensing and accounting authorities to obtain the relevant international call sign and Satcom ID numbers and thus ensure that its clients have access to the vital global telecommunications network.

Services for corporate service providers and
individual owners of pleasure yachts
Many corporate service providers do not have the time to keep abreast of current regulations to register their clients’ yachts. There is a need in the market for specialists who are conversant with the ownership and operational requirements of the modern day luxury yacht.
Being in regular contact with Registrars and being an approved insurance intermediary Sarnia Yachts is ideally placed to offer the following services to other corporate service providers.
- marine insurance
- yacht registration including deletion, change of ownership, name and port
- liaison on purchase and sale of yachts
- renewals and amendments to Certificates of Registry and statutory certificates
- marine communications and EPIRB registration.
- structures for yacht charter. Sarnia Yachts will be pleased to liaise with clients and their professional advisors to provide VAT registration to be used in connection with the chartering of yachts.
- Yacht Importation. Formal importation of yachts into the EU is often overlooked but forms an essential part of the structure surrounding many vessels operating in EU waters. Whether the yacht is private or commercially registered Sarnia Yachts can recommend the most appropriate place for the EU importation and organise/co–ordinate the appropriate procedure with the assistance of our local agents in the designated location.
