Sarnia Yachts welcomes Shinkai to the fleet

Named “Shinkai” which means “Deep Sea” in Japanese, this recently delivered 55m Feadship ice class explorer yacht is going to see a lot of that on its travels, both above and under the water utilising the various toys stored onboard including tenders, a 4×4 and a submarine.

Designed specifically for an experienced owner, Shinkai is soon to embark on an adventurous trip around the globe, making good use of her sturdy build and ice going capabilities. Shinkai is also equipped with the largest gyroscope built to date at 21 tonnes which is better suited to ice cruising than conventional stabiliser fins.

Sarnia Yachts is looking after Shinkai under its “Three Pillar” service. Starting at the top with the Yacht Ownership under an owning company incorporated and administered by our regulated Fiduciary business in Guernsey. The owning company has appointed the Sarnia Yachts Crew Management department to employ and pay all the crew and its Yacht Management team to oversee Shinkai’s safety and operations, including Yacht Accounting, Insurance & Mini ISM.

“Being able to sit in front of an owner with representatives from each of our three departments is very compelling” says Bruce Maltwood. “We are looking forward to delivering this complete wrap around service so that the owner can relax and enjoy the fantastic adventure ahead”.
