Structured Ownership

Structured yacht ownership can provide many benefits and peace of mind to owners of all sizes and types of vessel.

Forming a Company or Partnership to own and operate a yacht will provide asset protection for the owner and can provide a number of other benefits including:

  • Qualification for a flag not available to the individual owner
  • Delegation of the day-to-day running of the yacht
  • Access to yachting expertise and contacts
  • Ring fencing the yacht from a liability perspective
  • Beneficial Owner Discretion
  • VAT registration at a suitable jurisdiction for commercial yachts

Sarnia will choose the best type of structure and most favourable jurisdiction for incorporation. We can work alongside an owner’s legal and fiduciary teams, bringing our specialist knowledge and up-to-date understanding of today’s regulations. Alternatively, we can manage the whole process from start to finish.

A Regulated Company

As you’d expect, Sarnia Yachts is regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and the Malta Financial Services Authority. We provide company directors, company secretary, registered office, and can also provide nominee shareholders as required.

Once the corporate structure has been formed, Sarnia can provide ongoing consultancy and guidance to ensure a smooth passage for the company.

A safe pair of hands for insurance, VAT registration, crew, payroll and yacht admin services.
